London, June 06, 2011 – Anheuser-Busch InBev has announced a major UK on-pack promotion for Budweiser, which gives consumers a one in 60 chance of winning a Budweiser cash card pre-loaded with £10, £100 or £1,000.
The promotion launched on 1 June 2011 in the off-premise and runs on four and a half million Budweiser bottle and can packs. The promotion, which is featured on the secondary packaging, will be supported nationally by six sheet poster advertising around retailers, in-store merchandising and point-of-sale.
A national TV, outdoor and radio advertising campaign, which aims to celebrate the anticipation of great times and inspire summer drinkers to “Grab Some Buds” will also run at the same time as the promotion.
Iain Newell, Budweiser UK Marketing Director, comments; “The promotion supports Budweiser’s “Great Times Are Waiting” positioning by giving consumers the chance to treat themselves or splash out on their mates this summer with their very own Budweiser pre-loaded cash card. It’s a great way to create interest and excitement around the brand and gives consumers a desirable prize mechanic that will drive footfall into retailers and increase rate of sale.”
The promotion is open to consumers aged 18 and over. Consumers will need to visit www.budweiser.co.uk to enter their promotional code to see whether they are one of the winners of a £10, £100 or £1,000 cash card. The closing date for promotional code entries is 31 December, 2011.
