– BUDWEISER LAUNCHES ‘TRACK YOUR BUD’ –
Every Bud tells a story
London, May 30 2012 – In a first for the drinks industry, Budweiser has launched a new initiative called Track Your Bud which enables consumers to trace the journey of their Buds from the first grains of malt and rice to the final pour.
Budweiser has created a bespoke website – www.trackyourbud.co.uk – that gives consumers the opportunity to discover the hidden story and care taken in the unique brewing process behind the Budweiser in their hand. The site also shows the effort it takes to ensure Buds are served to the highest standard and quality.
Consumers simply have to log on to the Track Your Bud website and enter ‘Born On’ codes found on all Budweiser bottles and cans. They are then treated to behind-the-scenes stories showing the whole 23-day brewing process from start to finish. Those logging on are exposed to rich detail on the carefully selected source of ingredients and the brewing method for every single bottle, can or pint*.
The journey gives consumers the opportunity to be introduced to the head brewmaster from each of the threeUKbreweries in Magor, Salmesbury and Mortlake that brew Budweiser. They then follow the beer through the brewing process until it’s packaged and ready to leave the brewery. Each of these journeys is also personalised for users who connect through Facebook. Activity from personal timelines mirrors the stages the beer has been at on route to consumers anticipating the Bud reaching their hands.
Hugo Anderson, Western European global brands brewmaster said: “It has been great to devise a way to highlight Budweiser’s supreme quality. ‘Track Your Bud’ gives consumers a chance to really understand the immense effort, quality brewing process, care and attention that goes into ensuring that every single Budweiser is brewed to the highest possible standard. With ‘Track Your Bud’ consumers can now learn about and share Budweiser’s heritage and enjoy the story that exists in every bottle, can and pint.”
