18 June, 2012 (London) – AB InBevUK is delighted to announce that ‘Stella Artois Cidre’ has won the prestigious Grocer Gold Award for ‘Alcoholic Brand of the Year 2012.”
Voted for by theUK’s leading off-trade magazine, this influential publication voted Stella Artois Cidre their top alcohol brand beating competition from across the industry. The judges commented that the launch ‘has been a brand driven initiative that has played to the rules of the brand rather than the rules of the category.’

In its first year, it has been a huge success, establishing itself as the second largest premium apple cider in the off trade, with 39m pints of Cidre being sold* and the success of Cidre has led to the recent launch of new Stella Artois Cidre Pear’.
Retail value sales of Stella Artois Cidre in the first year were £50m and over 220k HL of volume sold*. More consumers drank Stella Artois Cidre than any other cider in the off trade in its first year on the market (Kantar World panel March 2012). 98% of them said Stella Artois Cidre, “met or exceeded their expectations” and more consumers now consider Stella Artois Cidre to be more “sophisticated” and “premium” than any other cider brand on the market (Source: Synovate, ABI UK brand performance tracker, Mar 11). An integrated marketing campaign for Stella Artois Cidre will run throughout the summer with Stella Artois Cidre Pear playing an important role.
