London, 8 May 2013 – Beck’s Vier has created Beck’s Live, a series of intimate gigs aimed at showcasing emerging and up and coming music talent.
The gigs will give new talent the chance to shine each month in front of sell-out crowds at exclusive BarFly venues in London and Liverpool, alongside more established bands and artists.
Beck’s Live has been designed to help and support new, independent creative talent. Through its Art Label initiative the brand has promoted pioneering art and music, having sponsored artists such as Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst and Jeff Koons.
So far two acts have been announced to perform and headline in the Beck’s Live series: The Tribes on 15th May at EVAC (Liverpool) and Kate Nash on 11th June at BarFly in Camden, both of which will be supported by emerging music talent.
Tribes are a British four-piece rock band from Camden, London. Formed in 2010, the following year they released their first EP titled ‘We Were Children.’ The song was named “Hottest Record in the World” by Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 and the band was the main support to The Kooks on the UK leg of their autumn tour. Life in Film, an Indie rock band from East London and 12 Dirty Bullets, a young band from West London will be supporting Tribes.
Kate Nash had a UK number 2 hit Foundations in 2007 and was named Best Female Artist at the 2008 BRIT Awards. She will be supported by British alternative rock group, Let’s Buy Happiness, from Newcastle and Fake Club, an all female rock band from London.
A full-line up of headliners and the emerging bands and artists that are supporting them will be announced to music fans through the Beck’s Vier Facebook page the month before each gig.
Jennifer Anton, marketing manager for Beck’s, said: “Beck’s is proud to support up and coming music talent across the UK and to give our fans the chance to see these artists. By creating Beck’s Live, we are providing a platform for new talent which continues our rich heritage of supporting the arts and independent creative thinkers.”
